SUNDERLAND have been handed a home start to life in Durham and Northumberland Division Two.
The Ashbrooke club were relegated from Division One after a dismal campaign, but hopes will high for a much-improved season at the lower level.
Sunderland begin at home to Prudhoe & Stocksfield in a first ever competitive meeting with the club on September 7.
The Wearsiders’ first away game is at old rivals Redcar on September 14.
The Third Division starts a week later than Division One, with Houghton hosting Winlaton Vulcans, Washington away to Jarrovians and Seaham entertaining Sedgefield on September 14.
