Sunderland sit fourth in Durham/Northumberland Division Two after beating Whitley Bay Rockcliff 25-3 at Ashbrooke on Saturday.

Victory made it two wins in three matches for the Wearsiders, who are on 10 points, level with third-top Redcar. Hartlepool and Barnard Castle have both won all three matches so far.

Seaham crashed to a 57-0 defeat at Richmondshire in Division Three, their second loss without scoring a point this season.

Washington slipped to a 24-12 defeat at home to Sedgefield, their third loss out of three games.

Durham City are joint top in Division One after a third successive victory, 32-25 against Gateshead at Hollow Drift.

Novos and Middlesbrough share City’s 100 per cent record, with the two to meet this coming weekend while City go to Medicals.
