HOUGHTON welcome Hartlepool BBOB to Dairy Lane on Saturday, looking for a repeat of their their storming last home performance in Durham and Northumberland Division Three.

Facing Richmondshire, Houghton romped to a bonus point 47-17 win, seven tries coming from Glen Crowther, Chris Ham, Paul McBernie, Graeme Bennett, Tom Birtley, Vince McBeth and Aidan Towers, plus six conversions from the boot of Chris Simpson.

However, Houghton’s last away game, against Jarrovians, was played in severe wind, which affected their play and resulted in a 10-0 reverse.

Houghton sit in a comfortable fourth spot in the league, though, with 44 points, they are 20 behind neighbours Seaham, who share the lead with Prudhoe & Stocksfield.

Houghton claimed a hard-fought 8-8 draw at BBOB five months ago, with Steve Winlow grabbing all their points.

Following Saturdaym there is only one remaining first-team fixture at Dairy Lane, against Chester-le-Street on March 31.

Houghton seconds have also been in action, with recent games against Hartlepool RFC seconds, Durham Police and Middlesbrough thirds.

The club is in now the process of organising more fixtures for the second string.
