FOLLOWING an improved performance against Alnwick last weekend, Sunderland will travel to Ponteland on Saturday hoping to end their losing streak.
They will be without Jamie Maclennan, who suffered a bad head injury last weekend, as well as Pete Harrison and Sean Bellon as the injury list continues to grow.
However, there is a welcome return for Jake Belfield in the second row after a few weeks out following a concussion.
Greg Littlewood returns at full-back with Matt Goforth on the wing and Sam Jordan in the centre.
Grant Edmundson starts at hooker and Andy Mackie is called up into the starting line-up in the back row.
Sunderland will hope they can find the performance to overcome their terrible run of form that has seen them lose their last five games.
They will have to dig deep as Ponteland are on a decent run, having won three and drawn the other in their last four games.
Both Sunderland II and III face Consett sides with the seconds at home following a week without a fixture and Sunderland III are away in a league fixture.
