Rowell: Phillips return a special occasion
A special mention for Kevin Phillips who could be playing at the Stadium of Light this weekend as part of the Blues squad.
He's 36 now with dodgy knees and if he plays at all it will almost certainly be coming off the subs' bench.
But he showed in the two goals which buried Wolves last month that class endures.
Those goals were vintage SuperKev and while he hopes he gets the great ovation he deserves from Sunderland fans, I hope that – like Adam Johnson – he doesn't come back to haunt us!
