Roker Marine moved two-and-a-half points clear in the Earl Cup First Division thanks to a 7-0 win at South Hylton, but closest challengers Houghton Dairy Lane and holders Silksworth are also unbeaten.
In Division Two, Barnes West End’s 6-1 triumph at Houghton Town extended their lead at the top to a couple of points from Seaham Town, who had a cracking 6½-½ success at Roker Park.
Barnes West End have never won the Swan Cup, but they are the team to catch after a 7-0 defeat of neighbours Barnes Park and have only dropped two points out of a maximum 21.

Chester-le-Street have never won a title in any of the SDA competitions, but, after last week’s 4-0 win at defending champions Silksworth, they sit top of the Harold Howey Trophy First Division.
In Division Two, Roker Marine A and Thompson Park A are yet to drop a point after four consecutive 4-0 wins. Marine outgunned Houghton Town A by 25 shots, while Thompson beat Barnes Park A by 18.
Storey Bowl holders Hetton Workmen’s moved to the top of the table with a 6-1 win over Roker Park. Thompson Park are only three points behind following an excellent 6-1 victory at Dawdon. Sadly, the first casualty of the season has come in the Storey Bowl as Pennywell have dropped out.
