Nosworthy: We must be positive

Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy insists that the Black Cats must be "positive and brave" in their final eight Premier League games.

Saturday's encouraging performance in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea saw visiting skipper John Terry predict that Roy Keane's men will avoid the drop.

And Nosworthy wants to build on the display, starting at high-flying Aston Villa this Saturday.

"It is nice John Terry says we will be fine," said centre-back Nosworthy. "It shows clubs are showing respect for us, which is what we are trying to do, but obviously a defeat is a defeat.

"We have to maintain that standard. It is no good saying we played well, got credit but got nothing.

"The performance gives everyone a lift, even though we have lost.

"I think that is the way we need to play in our last eight games – we need to be positive and brave."
