Newcastle kick off against West Brom
Managerless Newcastle start life in The Championship with a tricky trip to West Brom.
The Baggies will be aiming to make a good start under a new boss of their own after Tony Mowbray left the club to take over at Celtic.
Newcastle's first month in the second tier sees them facing West Brom (A), Reading (H), Sheffield Wednesday, (H) Crystal Palace (A) and Leicester City (H) as they look to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
The Magpies face Roy Keane's Ipswich at Portman Road on September 26.
They must wait until December 19 for a derby clash with the visit of Middlesbrough at St James' Park. The return fixture at the Riverside is on March 13.
Newcastle will travel to QPR on the final day of the season.
The Magpies are favourites to win The Coca-Cola Championship with some bookmakers offering 5/1.
