Thompson and Leslie pairing keep Washington on course

Washington Snooker claimed a 4-1 away win against Murton Colliery to continue their winning sequence in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League

Washington started well as Stephen Thompson clinched the first frame, but Steven Haswell levelled.

Norman Leslie moved Washington back into the lead and Gavin Dixon increased the lead.

Thompson/Leslie won the pairs 74-19 for the victory. Sadly, a late scorecard by Murton means have been docked two points.

Joe Cromby got Whitburn off to an excellent start away at Glendale winning the first frame.

Paul Atkinson levelled before Thomas Gwyn moved Glendale into the lead again.

John Smith levelled the match on the final black before Joe Cromby/Graeme Ablett won the pairs frame against John Wiseman/Thomas Gwyn for the 3-2 win.

Seaham Conservatives B edged out Lumley 3-2 after Martin Ball won the first frame with a 44 break.

Tony Grimes levelled the match before Manna Singh moved Seaham into the lead.

Colin Dobson increased the lead before a 34 break by Martin Ball, when paired with Sean Henderson, helped win the pairs 94-28 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

The match between Steels and Mill View was expected to be close and the singles alternated into a 2-2 situation before Steels took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.

A 25 break helped Gary Stockton get Seaham Conservatives A off to a perfect start against South Hylton before a 20 break helped Stephen Maratty win the second frame.

Breaks of 31 and 42 saw Graham Rutland dominate the third frame before Les Pinder won the fourth frame.

In the pairs, a fluked red helped Adam Smith, when paired with Kevin Harrop, produce an excellent 36 break to pinch the frame from Stephen Maratty/Ian Hughes 73-47, reducing the final score to 3-2 Seaham.

The Hetton Centre raced into a 2-0 lead at home to Biddick B, with Paul Stoves winning the first frame and Paul Nord winning the second frame.

Paul Cobb started a comeback for Biddick, continuing his good form, before John Temple levelled the match winning the fourth frame 47-32.

In the pairs, Philip Straughan/Peter Mills beat Paul Stoves/Joe Nord 59-27 for an excellent comeback and a 3-2 win.

The Victory travelled to Biddick A and started well with John Butler winning the first frame.

Darren Dowell won a high scoring second frame against Micky Riley before Gerry Porter potted well to beat Graham Smith 73-30.

Terry Froud pulled one back for Biddick before Gerry Porter/Ray James won the pairs beating Graham Smith/Terry Froud for an excellent 4-1 win.
