In the first frame, Hylton’s Adam Smith started strongly against Boldon’s John Smith, and with the aid of a 23 break, managed to build up a good lead, leaving Smith needing two snookers with two reds left on the table.

This brought a response from Smith who was trying hard to get back into the frame and after two excellent snookers managed to get back into it.

The frame started slowly until some small breaks by Graham moved him into a 40 point lead, with only two reds left on the table.
