Houghton CC’s Mal Sellars and Mark Harrison both recorded good times in the Stockton Wheelers open 10-mile Time Trial on the Crathorne Course.
Harrison completed the course in a time of 21 mins 58 seconds, while Sellars finished in 26 minutes 24 seconds.
The Highfield Kitchens/Godfrey Bikes N E Spring Cup Round One, at Prissick Park, saw 3rd and 4th category racers take part and there was over 100 riders lasting the 45 minutes.
The field stayed together and Houghton’s Matt Web, remained with the main bunch.
Paul Robson was in a sprint finish, but crashed 100 yards from the finish.
The winner was RST’s James Hill (4th category).

In the Elite/1/2/3/ category race, lasting one hour, plus 5 laps, Houghton CC’s second category rider Chris Ranson held his own.
There was a group of five riders who broke away from the main bunch and stayed away until the finish.
Chris finished 11th in the bunch sprint and 16th overall, just missing out in the points and placings.

H Houghton CC are promoting the Killhope Grimpeur Audax on March 30, starting at Lanchester Community Centre and heading up to Weardale, finishing at Lanchester.
The course is 100km with some wonderful scenery and hills.
