Rampant South Hylton are back at top of the league

South Hylton A moved back to the top of Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker Summer League Group Two with a 4-0 win at home to Cheemas B.

Bobby Boyce, Ian Stewart and Tony Hazard were successful in their frames, while a 36 break by Bobby Boyce, followed by a 37 break by Ian Stewart, saw Hylton win the pairs.

Steels kept the pressure on South Hylton with a 3-1 win at home to Murton Colliery.

Biddick B welcomed Lumley B and got off to a good start with John Temple winning the first frame before Sean Henderson levelled.

Trevor Walton edged Biddick back into the lead, but Brian Meuse and Ritchie Tiffin beat Peter Mills and Trevor Walton to secure a 2-2 draw.

In Group Three, Green Baize moved three points clear at the top after a 3-1 win away to the Railway.

Pennywell Comrades B welcomed Mill View B and got off to a good start, thanks to Kevin McDermott. Lee Dixon levelled before John Spruce beat Michael Burnikell to move Mill View ahead.

In the pairs, Kevin and Ian McDermott won to seal a 2-2 draw.

Graham Smith and Terry Fround put Biddick A into 2-0 lead against Cheemas A.

Anthony Longstaff pulled one back for Cheemas before teaming up with James Hair to win the pairs for the 2-2 draw.

In Group One, South Hylton B’s good run continued with a 4-0 win away at The Victory.

Farringdon welcomed Pennywell Comrades A and got off to an excellent start, thanks to Ryan McKenna.

Micky McLoughlin and Dean Taylor had a tussle in the second before Micky won. Colin Wrathmall won the third frame. Dave Robinson and Micky won a close pairs to complete the whitewash.

An outstanding performance by Lumley A saw them win 3-1 at home to Seaham Conservatives.
