REIGNING Thorney Close Darts Premier League champion Marco Laybourn is up and running.

After losing his first game last week, Laybourn sealed his first win of the new season by beating Darren Johnston 5-2, with best legs in 19, 20 and 21 darts.

The first game of the night saw Tom Davies beat Jack Revely 5-1, with his best two legs in 21 darts.

Micky Callan could only draw with Ian Wilkinson after taking a 4-1 lead. He had one leg in 17 darts, but just could not hold on to win.

Tony Richardson and Lee Rump also played out a draw. Richardson’s best legs came in 17 and 21 darts and he also had checkouts of 95 and 73. Rump’s best two legs came in 19 darts each.

Alan Slight beat John Macpherson 5-3 with the highlight a 114 outshot, as well as a 180. Macpherson’s best leg was in 19 darts.

Andy Lincoln saw off Dan Scott 5-2, including a 180, while Walter Scott beat Steve Richardson 5-1, with the help of three 21-dart legs.

Vince Lorraine hit a 180 as he saw off Steve Carr 5-2, also taking out one leg in 16 darts.

In Division One, Alan Garden eased past Alan Grimms 5-2, with a 117 outshot the highlight.

Paul Wilkinson beat Tony Bryant 5-0, while Tony Cummings edged Jamie Scott 5-3 in a very tight affair. Cummings had winning legs in 16 and 21 darts, while Scott won two in 21 darts,

Danny Cullen drew with Adrian Burgess, with both players hitting a 21-dart leg.
