Dykes strikes at the double to blow away high-fliers

STEVE Dykes had a brilliant introduction to the Thorney Close Premier League – beating two of the leading players.

Dykes has come in to replace Lee Rump and soon proved he is not there to make up the numbers!

First, he defeated Micky Callan 5-1 with both players’ managing 18-darters.

He then blew Ian Wilkinson away 5-0 with legs in 17 (twice), 18, 19 and 20 darts.

In other games, Steve Carr beat Vince Lorraine 5-3, while Andy Lincoln beat Dan Scott 5-3, including a 111 finish.

Marco Laybourn beat Darren Johnston 5-1, including three 180s.

Dan Scott threw a maximum but went down 5-3 to Tony Richardson, while Steve Richardson drew with Walter Scott.

Jack Revely shared the spoils with Tom Davies, with both players having best legs in 21 darts.

In Division One, Tony Cummings got back to winning ways by seeing off Alan Garden 5-1. Both players had 21-dart legs, with Garden also recording a 180.

Kristian Summerside overcame Tony Bryant 5-3, while Jamie Scott defeated Paul Wilkinson 5-2.

Alan Garden beat Paul Wilkinson 5-2, while in the last game of the night Denny Cullen drew with his son Danny. Denny’s best legs were in 19 and 20 darts and he also had a 180.
