CONNOR Steele topped the City of Sunderland’s ASC’s medal table with four medals at Derwentside ASC Developmental Meet.
The 13-year-old Age Group Development squad swimmer finished the day with a gold medal in the 50m breaststroke event, and followed this with silver medals in the 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly and a bronze medal in the 100m freestyle event.
Adam Boxall (13) won two medals, a gold medal in the 200m freestyle and a silver medal in the 100m freestyle.
Adam Cambrook (14) also came home with two medals, finishing second in the 200m I/M and third in the 50m butterfly event.
Completing the medal tally for the boys was Tom Brumwell (11), who finished first in the 100m breaststroke.
For the girls, ten-year-olds Grace Abbott and Caitlin Cambrook and eleven-year-old Vanessa Rubio won four bronze medals between them.
Grace was third in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle events, while Caitlin and Vanessa both finished third in their age groups in the 200m freestyle event.
Making their debut in their first non-team gala were Jasmine Campbell, Leon Nicholson and Fran Proctor, all aged nine, and eleven-year-old Benjamin Milford.
Jasmine’s best result came in the 50m breaststroke where she finished a creditable fifth and finished in ninth and tenth in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle events respectively.
Leon was 11th in the 50m freestyle, while Fran finished ninth in the 50m breaststroke and 12th in the 50m freestyle events.
Benjamin finished sixth in the 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke events and tenth in the 50m freestyle.
Katie Bittel (13), Jennifer Hellens (13), Laura-Jayne Smith (12), Rhianna Ibbitson (11) and Lorenzo Corsi (9) completed the COSASC squad.
