TWO players were breathing big sighs of relief as they secured their Thorney Close Darts Premier League safety.

Steve Carr secured his spot with a 5-2 win over Anth Cummings, with his best leg achieved in 20 darts.

And Jack Revely, right, will join him next season after his 5-1 win over Vince Lorraine, Revely hitting 15, 17 and 21-dart legs to achieve safety.

Marco Laybourn beat Tes Charlesworth 5-0, Laybourn’s best leg achieved in 18 darts, which also included a 130 finish on the bull.

Ian Jarvis beat Lee Rump 5-3 in a tight match, with Jarvis scoring legs in 16, 19 and 21 darts, plus two 180s. In reply, Rump’s best leg was a 21-darter, plus a 180.

Vince Lorraine was victorious 5-1 over Anth Richardson and Alan Slight beat Jack Revely by the same score, Slight’s best legs being in 17 and 21 darts.

Micky Watson drew both his games to secure a play-off place on finals night, first with Alan Slight then Ian Jarvis.

Jarvis also drew with Chris Bolam, but managed a 5-1 victory over Walter Scott, with legs in 18, 19 and 21 darts.

In Division One, Neil Hardy lost 5-3 to Jamie Scott, but came back to beat Tony Bryant 5-0, with help from 18 and 21-darters and a 118 finish.

Adam Lafferty beat Alan Grimes 5-1.

Gary Richardson was victorious over Jordan Cook by 5-3.

Shaun Turnbull beat Dan Scott 5-2 and Alan Garden was victorious by 5-1 over Darren Johnston thanks to a 19 and two 21-dart legs.

Denny Cullen beat Tony Bryant 5-3, while Jason Allan won his game with Danny Cullen 5-3, both players enjoying 19 and 20-dart legs.

Finals night is on Tuesday, January 24, and anybody interested in joining the league can come along and leave their name on the night.
