HETTON Hawks’ Katy Ross won the junior race of the cyclocross event at Preston Park, Stockton.
Ross finished half a lap ahead of her nearest rival, Hugo Lutz-Atkinson (Marton Racing Team), followed by Nathan Seston, of Cleveland Wheelers.
The cyclocross event consisted of two races, juniors lasting 20 minutes, and a Senior lasting 45 minutes.
The senior event had a field of 50, including four Houghton CC riders: David Stevens, Paul Robson, Ian Jobling and Peter Reed.
Tom Ramsey (Crosstrax) took an early lead and stayed in front for the rest of the race.
Tom England (Active/CP Racing Team) finished a minute behind, and David Stevens (Houghton CC) finished in third position.
The rest of the Houghton team finished well up in the field.
The lady winner was Jen Milson, of CPSUK.

H Sunday sees the Houghton team competing in the penultimate event of the Rat Race Series at Durham University Cricket Ground, starting at 11am. The event is being promoted by Durham University Cycling Club.
