Junior league: SAFC finish in style

SAFC Foundation Whites ended the N Sert UK Trophy campaign on a high with victories against Houghton Albion Panthers and Plains Farm.

The first game saw goals from Tom Lawson and Jack Naylor, with Lawson notching again – along with William Spoors (2) against Plainsy, with Cain McKetterick getting a consolation.

Colliery Terriors edged out Byers Green Haze with Sam Greenwood and Ciaran Banks on target, Leon Dunnett scoring the reply.

Durham Soccarena Celtic and Byers Green Haze drew 0-0.

K&G Decorators Cup

STRIKES from Dunn, Powell and Fearon gave Bowburn a win over Fulwell, who bounced back with a victory over Washington Jaguars, thanks to goals from Nelson and Gray.

Jack Atkinson and Liam Turnbull scored for South Moor Juniors in

their victory against Ryton.

Flamin Tasty Cup

THE season concluded with Lumley Iota winning both of their games 1-0. Joe Lockey scored against Ouston Juniors, and then Alfie Simpson

notched against Riverside.

Brandon United beat Coxhoe United with goals from Adam Guy, Joe Wood and Joe Brown. Brannan Simpson scored for Coxhoe.

Riverside edged out Leam Rangers Yellows with Jonathon Elsbury bagging a double.

Callum Milburn and Ben Fairless scored as Washington Juniors beat Farringdon Detached, who replied through Matthew Norman.

Durham Athletic had Scott Almieda and Rhys Redpath to thank for the goals as they defeated Brandon United.

Ben Thrower bagged a brace for Willington Youth Whites as they edged out Durham Soccarena Galaxy, Olly Phillips netting a consolation.

Whitburn and Cleadon Bees beat Farringdon Detached, the only goal coming from Joe Little.

William Smith scored the only goal as Hilda Park beat Leam Rangers Yellows, while Whitburn and Cleadon Bees and Durham Soccarena Galaxy drew, Clementson and Power scoring for the Bees, and Nial Butler (2) for the Galaxy.

It was honours even between Willington Whites and Durham Athletic, Ben Thrower and Rhys Redpath the respective scorers.

Hetton Juniors trophy

SAFC Foundation Cats beat Hilda Park Magpies thanks to goals from Ethan Turner and Kyle Marsden.

Turner scored again, alongside goals from Dylan Quinn (2) and Bailey Thompson in a win against Lambton Lions Cubs.

Easington Colliery beat East Durham thanks to a couple from Owen Armstrong, and then went on to play out a draw with East Coast.

Layton Hall and Owen Armstrong netted for Easington with a Ryley Johnson double in reply.

It was a mixed bag for Redby Whites. Two goals from Lucas Turnbull and one for Ben Colley sealed their win over Lambton Lions but they went on to suffer a defeat by East Coast, whose scorers were Ryley Johnson, Nial Stephens and Kieran Stonebank.

East Durham fared better in their other game, beating Washington Junior Swifts thanks to strikes from Tom Best, Jake Hayes and Ethan Banks.

Hetton Lyons and Waldridge Park ended all square, Nathan Staves grabbing the Hetton goal with Dean Metters replying.
