Junior football: Elliott's double seals great Day for Farmers
BLUE DIVISION RICKLETON Farmers won twice, beating Redby Reds thanks to an Elliott Day brace and a goal from Thomas Reid, with Ryan Bruce and Alex White on target for Redby.
The Farmers then beat Wallsend Boys Club Madrid thanks to four goals from Elliott Day, Josh Morton and Ben Dodds scoring for Wallsend.
Five goals from the impressive Ryan Bruce, plus one for Lewis Connolly, earned Redby Reds a convincing win over Swalwell.
Wallsend Boys Club won both of their fixtures, against club rivals Wallsend Madrid and Durham County. Louis Smith, Shola Sotiman, David Phillip and Kyle Wilson scored against Madrid, with David Phillips (3) and Taylor Aishmah on target in the second game.
A double from Oliver McCully, plus one for Patrick McCann gave Whitburn and Cleadon Bees a win against Durham County, while a single goal from Oliver Walker sealed a victory for Deerness Valley against Hetton Juniors.
RED DIVISION
HOUGHTON Albion were in top form after wins against Durham County Colts, Plains Farm Yellows and Primrose Tigers on Saturday.
Ethan Dixon hit four goals against the Colts, Kieran Wakefield three, Jamie Brown two plus one apiece for Dean Smurthwaite, Louis Miller and Abbie Langton
Against Plainsy, Louis Miller hit two goals with further strikes from Ethan Dixon and Abbie Langton, with Louis Roper (2) and Brandon Goldsmith scoring the replies.
A single strike from Kieran Wakefield gave Albion their win over Primrose Tigers.
Rickleton Foxes powered home against Durham County Colts, thanks to goals from Adam Birleson (3), Harvey Day (2), Alexander Ward (2), Rhys Challoner, Lennon Conlon and Jenson Folkard. The Foxes then went on to draw with Farringdon Detached after a goal from Adam Birleson with Andrew Herron replying.
New team Shotton Colts Blues beat Felling Magpies thanks to a Jack Hanson strike but were then narrowly defeated by clubmates Shotton Colts. Jack Liam Proudlock grabbed two and James Anderson one for the Colts with a Jack Hanson brace in reply for the Blues.
Durham Athletic beat Ryhope thanks to a Sam Crompton brace and one from Elliott Chisham, but then suffered defeat at the hands of Riverside, with Sam Bithill scoring twice.
Primrose Tigers won their other game, beating Farringdon Detached thanks to strikes form Dylan Reay and Josh Crew.
WHITE DIVISION
WASHINGTON Juniors strolled to victory against Felling Magpies Blacks thanks to a James Regan hat-trick, a couple from Ben Mitchell and strikes from Ewan Arkley, James Marriner and James Summers.
They also won their second game, beating Redby Whites thanks to goals from Ben Mitchell and James Regan, Harry Wraithmall netting the Redby reply.
