Ian Jarvis sends out a clear message

IAN Jarvis has all but secured a place in the Premier League final night play-offs, with a double message of intent on his title hopes.

Jarvis triumphed 5-2 against title favourite and long time leader Paul Williams. Jarvis excelled with a pair of 17 darts. Williams’ highlights were a brace of 21 dart legs.

Jarvis then went on to beat Mick Watson 5-0 with cool finishes of 78 and 80.

Second placed Chris Bolam also issued a title warning by beating fellow title hopefuls Andy King and Marco Laybourn respectively.

First up was third placed King, who Bolam dispatched 5-1. He was made to work more in a 5-3 win against Laybourn. Bolam took the win with a pair of 21 darters and legs in 18 and 19.

Leader Paul Williams bounced back from an earlier defeat with a 5-2 win over Chris Jarvis. Jarvis won legs in 17 darts, Williams clinched victory with some superb finishes, including a checkout of 110.

Sue Edwards beat Andy Lincoln 5-3 with solid legs in 19 darts and 21 darts twice. However, Edwards was defeated in her next match against Walter Scott by the same scoreline.

Lee Rump secured promotion to the Premier League with an excellent double. Firstly he beat Dan Scott 5-1, hitting two legs in 15 darts and a checkout of 120. He then beat Dawn Evans 5-0.

Jack Revely inched closer to the Premier League, in what has been an excellent season for the youngster. Revely had a 20 dart leg in defeating Tony Bryant 5-0.

With everything still to play for in the race for a promotion play-off place, Darren Johnston and fellow chaser Adam Lafferty ended up honours even in a gruelling 4-4 draw.

Steve Carr also kept his hopes alive with a 5-2 win over Dawn Evans.

Gary Richardson enjoyed a 5-1 victory over Jamie Scott hitting an 18 darter with a checkout of 79.

Scott went on to dent Colin Richardson’s hopes with a 4-4 draw. Scott’s best leg ended in a 71 checkout.

Anth Devine also suffered defeat, going down 5-2 to Mick Brown, in a contest that could have gone either way.
