GRINDON claimed top spot in the Sunderland carpet bowls league with an 8-0 demolition of the Mighty Ducks.
It was a stroll in the park for Grindon. The first rink played reallly well and they neverb looked back.
Ducks were never in it, though Kieran Hunt and Lee Davies played well.
Plains Farm were soundly beaten by Mitchells 6-2.
Plains Farm won the first rink comfortably but Mitchells, led by theirskip Paul Kirby, had other ideas and went on to defeat M.Laydon rink.
The third rink, led by Robson Boulton, were always in command. He played the last wood to pick up the two points with the overall score.
Farringdon eased home 6-2 against Townend Farm, who claimed a win through P.Hudson.
Pallion had a fine 8-0 win at home to St Leonards and they have an outside chance of the league if they can keep up momentum.
Grangetown came back from their defeat last week to record an 8-0 home win over Hetton.
