GRINDON are relentless in their quest for the D&P Trophies Sunderland league title after a massive 8-0 win over Farringdon.

They were in control from the off and Skip T.Haram ensured they claimed all eight points and kept the pressure on title rivals Town End Farm.

St Leonard’s have really come to the fore after an 8-0 win at Hetton.

The Saints have now taken 32 points out the last four games.

Silksworth Comrades had mixed fortunes this week when they were beaten 7-1 by Mitchells.

However, the Comrades responded to defeat Grangetown 6-2.

Steels ran out 7-1 winners over Plains Farm.

H In the Festival of Bowls Competition at the Potters, Martin Campbell (Plains Farm) won the singles competition 7-6 after an extra end against Paul Harris.

This is fourth time Martin has won the tilte in the last five years.

H In the fours competition, A.Howe/M.Campbell/J.Sanderson/E.Warren were unlucky in their semi-final, losing out to Cambridge fours 7-3.
