SUNDERLAND boss Gus Poyet is hungry for a win at Hull on Sunday.
Former Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has tasted victory twice over Sunderland this season and will be keen to seal a third win to get Hull to Wembley.
The two teams last met in February, when Hull secured a 2-0 victory over a 10-man Sunderland side after Wes Brown was sent off in just the fourth minute.
Poyet flared up at his pre-match conference when Sunderland’s record against Hull came into question.
He said: “Let’s play one game against them 11 versus 11. And then playing 11 v 11 we’ll see who is better on the day.
“Of course we’re going to have a better chance, no doubt.
“It’s a strange game because, of course, both clubs would like to be in a better position in the league, but at the same time they have the opportunity to go to Wembley.”
