ARSENE Wenger’s reported interest in Simon Mignolet could be set to harden if, as reported, Gunners’ keeper Lukasz Fabiansiki leaves the Emirates.
The Polish international is linked in the Sunday People with a move to Turkish side Besiktas.
And if the 28-year-old leaves, Wenger could step up his reported interest in a keeper who has stalled on increasing his contract at the Stadium of Light beyond its existing two years.
The Mail on Sunday though is reporting that Liverpool – believed to have readied an initial £6,5million bid for the Sunderland number one – are set to make a firm £7million offer.
Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers, was rumoured to want Stoke City’s Asmir Begovic initially,
But with the Potters’ stopper priced at £12million, Mignolet is touted as a cheaper option.
