SWANSEA City are the latest club to be linked with a summer move for Sunderland target Marcos Alonso.
The Black Cats are hoping to re-sign Alonso on a permanent deal after the left-back impressed on loan from Fiorentina during the second half of last season.
Fiorentina are thought to be willing to offload Alonso, who has two years left to run on his contract with the Italian side, after he barely featured in Serie A following his arrival from Bolton last summer.
West Ham have expressed an interest in Alonso, while reports today suggest Swansea are also in the running for the Spaniard.
But Alonso enjoyed his spell at the Stadium of Light and Sunderland will hope that proves to be decisive in their pursuit of the 23-year-old.
Head coach Gus Poyet has previously indicated his eagerness to land Alonso permanently and told the Spanish press today: “We are doing everything possible so that Fiorentina give him to us.”
