SWEDISH goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfelt has been linked as a possible replacement for Simon Mignolet, as Sunderland look to boost their goalkeeping ranks.
Black Cats stopper Mignolet is on the verge of completing a £12million move to Liverpool, leaving Keiren Westwood as the only senior custodian at Paolo Di Canio’s disposal.
Sunderland have been monitoring PSV Eindhoven’s Holland Under-21 goalkeeper Jeoren Zoet, with a view to signing the 22-year-old as a possible understudy to Westwood.
And the Wearsiders are also rumoured to be monitoring Heerenveen’s Nordfelt, who would offer another cost-effective signing.
Nordfelt has only a year left on his deal in Holland and has a release clause of £2m in his contract.
