PALERMO striker Abel Hernandez is the latest Serie A player to be linked with a switch to Sunderland.
The 22-year-old Uruguayan is the source of transfer speculation in Italy following the relegation of his club.
Parma are reckoned to be the team most interested in the forward, and the most likely to sign him, but Sunderland’s name has also been thrown into the mix of interested clubs.
Hernandez fits the template of players Sunderland are looking at – young, inexpensive with potential to develop.
But the Sunderland link seems speculative at best and Hernandez’s record of one goal in 14 games last season, does not suggest there will be a stampede for his services.
