LIVERPOOL could use Sunderland target Fabio Borini as a makeweight for Southampton pair Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren, according to reports today.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has seen several bids rejected for England midfielder Lallana, while he is also keen on Croatian centre-half Lovren.
Speculation today suggests Liverpool are prepared to offer frontman Borini as a potential part exchange in the deal to encourage Southampton to part company with two of their key figures.
Sunderland are eager to sign Borini on a permanent deal after the Italian enjoyed a successful season-long loan spell at the Stadium of Light last year.
But the Black Cats realise there are other suitors for the 23-year-old and they need to be patient to see if both Liverpool are willing to sell and Borini is prepared to move to Wearside permanently.
