FULHAM have been linked with a fresh move for Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley.
The Cottagers were close to signing Bardsley during the summer after the 28-year-old fell out with ex-head coach Paolo Di Canio and they were reported to have seen a fresh bid turned down by the Black Cats last week.
Sky Sports News today reported that Fulham have made a new offer to prise away a player who has been a key part of Sunderland’s transformation under Gus Poyet.
But it is highly unlikely that Sunderland will be willing to part company with their longest-serving first-team player.
Despite Bardsley boasting just six months left on his contract, Poyet has already confirmed his intention to offer the former Manchester United man a new deal.
And with the prospect of a Wembley cup final on the horizon, Bardsley is similarly unlikely to be tempted to join third bottom Fulham.
