FORMER Sunderland defender Wayne Bridge has agreed a one-year deal with relegated Reading after his release by Manchester City.
Bridge, who spent the final five months of the 2011-12 campaign at the Stadium of Light, impressed on loan with Brighton last season and that alerted several Championship clubs to the out-of-contract left-back.
QPR had been eager to sign the ex-England defender, but their fellow ex-Premier League side Reading, have confirmed they have agreed a deal for the 32-year-old.
“I’m delighted to be signing for Reading and excited to be joining a team that is going to be looking for promotion next season,” Bridge said.
“I spoke to the manager and he told me about the direction he wants the team to go in. Everything we talked about was positive - and he was really positive about signing me which means a lot.”
