SWANSEA skipper Ashley Williams has been ruled out of Saturday’s clash with Sunderland.
Williams has been suffering from an ankle injury for several weeks and has not featured since last month’s win at Crystal Palace.
Swans boss Michael Laudrup today confirmed that the centre-half will not be fit for this weekend’s visit of the Black Cats, as Gus Poyet begins his reign as Sunderland head coach.
“Ashley has been out for nearly four weeks, but he won’t play on Saturday,” said Laudrup.
“Hopefully he will be back in training very soon.”
Midfielders Pablo Hernandez and Jonathan de Guzman are both expected to fit, while left-back Ben Davies is a doubt.
