SUNDERLAND Women powered their way into the League Cup final with a crushing 8-0 semi-final win against Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

Once Beth Mead opened the scoring with a stunning strike from 20 yards it was one-way traffic.

Mead scored a second and there was a hat-trick from Kiera Ramshaw, as well as goals from Kelly McDougall (pen), Robin Chidester and Sophie Williams.

Sunderland will play Leeds United in the final at Northampton Town on Sunday, May 6.
