David Moyes has eyes on the future as well as present as Sunderland face West Brom in the critical Premier League clash.

Bottom club Sunderland face West Brom at the Stadium of Light where he demands his players "show a collective desire and determination from the first whistle to the last."

But the Black Cats boss used hid column in today's matchday programme, Red & White, that he is keen on promoting youth at the club.

"Any good side needs the right blend of youth and experience," he wrote.

"And developing young players is important to pour club for that very reason.

"Several players in their early 20s were brought in during the tansfer window and we havre also sen the emergence of academy graduates such as Jordan Pickford and Lynden Gooch recently.

"I try to watch as many young players and involve them in and around the first team wherever possible as it is a great learning opportunity for them.

"Of course they have to train well and play well because the only way they are going to stand out from the crowd as if they are doing that consistently."
