SUNDERLAND will face neighbours Hartlepool United in pre-season as they head to Victoria Park for the second successive year.

The Black Cats will tackle Neale Cooper’s side on Friday, July 27 (kick-off 7.30pm) in the third domestic friendly announced by the club.

Sunderland prevailed 3-1 at Victoria Park last August, in a testimonial for Pools skipper Ritchie Humphreys.

Cooper said: “We’re delighted that Martin O’Neill will be bringing his team to The Vic and we’re really looking forward to what should be a very enjoyable evening.

“I know both sets of supporters turned out in force for the fixture last year so it would be nice if that could happen again this time.”

Sunderland have already confirmed friendlies at East Midlands duo Derby and Leicester after they return from the Peace Cup pre-season tournament in South Korea.

Tickets for the Hartlepool game will be priced at £10 for adults for £5 for concessions.
