Sunderland starlet Duncan Watmore inspired England Under-21s to a 3-1 win against Switzerland tonight.

The youngster came on as a 75th minute substitute, with England trailing 1-0 in the Euro qualifier.

The Swiss had taken a 45th minute lead after a bad challenge from Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford - who is on loan at Preston.

But Watmore turned the game on its head with another lively display from the bench.

After having a couple of chances, Watmore won a penalty on 82 minutes with a quick burst in the box which ended in a trip. James Ward-Prowse netted from the spot.

Three minutes later, Watmore scored with a shot from outisde the area, that took a deflection past the visiting keeper.

To complete a stunning cameo, Watmore then set up Chuba Akpom for a third goal on 90 minutes to seal the victory.
