SUNDERLAND will conclude their pre-season preparations in Scandinavia next week after confirming a friendly with Danish side FC Midtjylland.
The Black Cats will travel to the MCH Arena, in Hernig, on Wednesday, August 7 (kick-off 6pm) to face the Danish Superliga side in their final outing before the Premier League gets underway.
Despite bringing in eight new players so far this summer, Paolo Di Canio has shied away from arranging an abundance of friendly outings for his side.
Sunderland played two behind-closed-doors games against humble opposition during their training camp in Italy before tackling Spurs and Manchester City in last week’s Barclays Asia Trophy, in Hong Kong.
But Di Canio’s men will have one last chance to secure their place in the starting XI for the opening Premier League encounter against Fulham, when they travel to Denmark.
Ticket details for the game will be announced shortly.
