SUNDERLAND misfit striker Danny Graham has returned to Middlesbrough, where his football career began.
The 28-year-old, who began as a 17-year-old at the Riverside in 2003, has joined the Championship side on loan until the end of the season.
Graham had been on loan at Hull, who wanted to move him on having signed Everton striker Nikica Jelavic and West Brom forward Shane Long.
Nottingham Forest looked to be in pole position today until Boro stole a march on them and snatched Graham’s signature at the last minute.
The Tynesider joined Sunderland last season, signed by Martin O’Neil, and made 13 appearances for the Wearsiders without scoring.
He has made 20 appearances for Hull this season, scoring once.
Boro also signed Peterborough striker Lee Tomlin on loan.
