SUNDERLAND goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is back on Wearside for treatment after sustaining an injury while on loan at Burton Albion.
Pickford suffered a minor tear in his knee during training ahead of Burton’s match with Fleetwood at the weekend.
The 19-year-old had started Burton’s first three games of the season and Brewers boss Gary Rowett says he would be interested in taking the keeper back to the Pirelli Stadium once he returns to fitness.
“I’ve asked Sunderland to keep me in the loop with his progress,” said Rowett. “He’ll be out for a month or so.
“It’s not a serious injury, but he’s a young keeper with fantastic potential and they want to make sure it doesn’t get any worse.”
Pickford was on a season-long loan at Burton, having previously enjoyed spells on loan with Darlington and Alfreton.
