WE couldn’t have asked for a harder fixture to kick off our relegation run-in.
Manchester United are running away with the league and much of it has to do with their explosive strike force. While their defence has been vulnerable at times and their midfield isn’t the most inspiring, they have four strikers that could get in almost any team in the league.
That is certainly their main threat.
I expect we will be reverting to 4-5-1 again following the injury to Steven Fletcher. It’s a massive blow to hear that both he and Lee Cattermole will be out for the rest of the season.
I believe those two are our most influential players and to have neither of them available at such a crucial time may prove costly.
First and foremost, we need to set out to be hard to beat – that is imperative. Have Sessegnon play off Danny Graham and recall the industrious James McClean. Each and every player needs to show some fight – that’s half the battle.
Players such as Graham, Johnson and N’Diaye need to prove their worth and display the quality that persuaded the club to spend big money.
Anything here would be a bonus.
Prediction: Sunderland 1 Man Utd 3
