SUNDERLAND have continued their summer spending spree by finalising a move for France Under-20 international El-Hadji Ba.
The Black Cats spent several months tracking midfielder Ba last season and the 20-year-old confirmed during the summer that he was heading to the Stadium of Light.
But Sunderland have had to agree compensation with French club Le Havre over the out-of-contract Ba, who has penned a three-year deal with the Black Cats.
Ba, who made 12 appearances for Le Havre, has been training with Sunderland at their Italian pre-season base.
And he becomes the seventh new player to join the first-team squad this summer, following yesterday’s arrival of American striker Jozy Altidore.
