SUNDERLAND face a daunting fifth round tie against Arsenal if they can overcome Middlesbrough in their FA Cup fourth round replay.
But O’Neill was simply relieved his side were still in the velvet bag yesterday after his team’s worst display since his arrival at the Stadium of Light.
Asked of his opinion of the game, he said: “I’m just delighted we are still in the cup.
“I thought we played very sloppily in the first-half and gave Middlesbrough a foothold in the game.
“By the time the goal came around I thought they deserved to be in front.
“We played a lot better in the second half, showed a lot more urgency, typified by Fraizer Campbell and deserved to equalise and still be in the hat.
“A draw was probably a fair result, but if you’re going to ask me about who we might face in the next round I’m not really interested in that – we’ve got a very hard replay ahead of us before then – but I’m pleased still to be in it.”
