THE kick-off time for Sunderland’s game against Tottenham Hotspur next month has been switched to a later start.
The match, which takes take place on Saturday, February 12, was originally scheduled for 3pm but will now kick off at the later time of 5.30pm.
It’s an unusually late change in the scheduling list – the match set to take place in a fortnight’s time – and has been brought about by satellite station ESPN viewing Sunderland as factors in the excitement at the top end of the Premier League table.
Sunderland chief executive Steve Walton said: “With both clubs in strong league positions at the present time the game takes on extra significance to a national and international audience and that is the reason the fixture has been chosen by ESPN for live broadcast.
“Usually we are given a longer notice period regarding changes so we understand and sympathise with supporters who may be affected by the movement of the kick off time.”
Tickets are still available for the game, priced at £10 for under 16s and from £23 for adults, with concessions for under 22s and over 65s at just £18.
