Sunderland produced a gutless performance to slip to a 2-0 defeat to Swansea City today, in the final game of the Premier League season.

It was an 11th home defeat of the campaign for David Moyes, and here’s how some Sunderland fans reacted on Twitter.

@BillyCupid: After 20 years of going to every game, I left the Stadium Of Light today not knowing when I’ll be back. And not caring.

@C_Doherty19: Still find it amazing that Sunderland fans think its Moyes who’s killed their season. Its like de ja vu with Blackburn a few years ago

@Capt_Fishpaste: Statistically, I’ve seen worse #SAFC teams than this before. Never seen a more disgustingly gutless one I’ve genuinely loathed

@BengoBangoBongo: No matter what happens next season, it can’t be worse than what was served up today

@Daz_3000: horrific today, moyes has to go as do 90% of todays players. The players should all repay all safc season ticket holders!

@Sam96Prior: Not winning a single home game this year is absolutely shocking, deservedly relegated

@Gaz_Bellamy: Not an ounce of effort from anyone. The club is rotten. Fans are understandably distant. We expect effort. Little else

@RobRaine180: Pathetic game again and anyone who says Who are we going to get? is not a valid excuse for keeping Moyes.

@DanMeister1234: That was pathetic! Ran out of things to say, cause I’ve said it all season. But, mass clearout needed this summer starting with Moyes!

@socialanigirl: I spent most of the second half doing revision for my Monday exam on my phone instead of watching the game it was that bad

@chrissafc1983: Embarrassing to see some fans applauding the players at full time

@SuncitySan: A Sunderland supporter is not in it for the Glory but we do deserve better than that 90 mins. A disgrace

@CopleyMoz: Imagine how fuming Hull City must be with us though

@MJPotts17: Moyes played the loanees today ahead of youngsters. His ‘strongest’ team. He was actually trying to win that match

@Neillang057: Absolute disgrace not only today but all season from #safc not fit to wear the club colours get out of our club

@gordonfarhaway: God help us next season
