SUNDERLAND will be looking for pain relief against Spurs tomorrow, reckons Tottenham defender Michael Dawson.
The Black Cats twice led at Stoke last weekend only to fall to a last-gasp 3-2 loss.
And Dawson expects Steve Bruce’s men will be pumped up to make up for that disappointment.
He said: “It’s always a difficult place to go and they will be gutted to have lost to Stoke last weekend after leading twice.
“I’m sure the atmosphere will be great as always and we’ll be prepared for another tough away game.”
Spurs sit fifth in the Barclays Premier League while their hosts trail by seven points in seventh.
So former Nottingham Forest centre-back Dawson believes this is a real six-pointer for Sunderland if they’re “They’ll look at the table and think, ‘10 points or four points (behind Tottenham)’ and that’s a big difference,” Dawson told his club’s website.
“That gives them a real incentive, but that incentive is there for us as well.
“We need to keep picking up points to stay on the tails of the top four.”
