LIKE every supporter, I’m always looking for more in the transfer market and Sunderland have got just over 24 hours to bring someone else in.
I will be glued to Sky from morning till night tomorrow as the deals go through and I hope Sunderland will be involved.
Whether you think the transfer window is right or wrong, there’s no doubt it’s an exciting day in the season.
Everyone can see goal scoring is the big problem for Sunderland at the moment and if an experienced striker comes into the club then it won’t be a bad thing.
There is talk coming from Steve Bruce about bringing in a striker and when you have a goals tally of one in four, it’s obviously a concern.
Things can change quickly on the pitch, but sometimes you need to be pro-active as well.
You can never have enough quality strikers and two of our four are still raw kids.
But the wide left position is still the other area that needs addressing for me, because we’ve already had Jack Colback, David Vaughan and Seb Larsson (pictured) playing there this season and none of them are natural wingers.
It’s a position where we could do with a specialist wideman with the injection of pace that our midfield is lacking at the minute.
Sometimes, it’s not just the strikers who are to blame, you need that creativity in midfield, too.
They have to chip in with goals, too – there’s nothing in the rule book to say they can’t score!
