TOTTENHAM striker Roman Pavlyuchenko says Sunderland “have been actively interested in me”.

Reports say the Russian wants out of White Hart Lane before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

Spurs’ Peter Crouch has been strongly linked with a move to Wearside on transfer deadline day, but Pavlyuchenko is a player who would really excite Black Cats fans.

He hinted, however, that he could be timed out of a move away from the Londoners.

Pavlyuchenko is quited in the Daily Mail saying: “My agent is in London.

“He met the chairman Daniel Levy to try to find a way out, but so far there is no solution.

“We gave the option of going out on loan for six months but Levy opposed it. The team have five forwards, and someone will not even get into the squad, so should leave.

“We can find options. I know that Sunderland have been actively interested in me.

“In England, miracles can happen on the last day of the transfer window. So there is hope, but it is very small.’

Emmanuel Adebayor is on his way to Spurs on loan.
