GUS Poyet has been installed as odd-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job this season.

The Sunderland boss watched on as fans turned against him after a 4-0 thumping at home to Aston Villa at the Stadium of Light today.

The result - and the manner of the performance, with Sunderland 4-0 down at half-time - quickly saw bookmakers slash the odds on Poyet being sacked.

Skybet, William Hill and Betfair make him 1/4 on to be the next top-flight manager to go, while Paddy Power have him at 1/3.

Nigel Pearson, in charge of bottom side Leicester City, is next favourite at 8/1.
