Tottenham captain Scott Parker was surprised by Sunderland’s tactics after his side left the Stadium of Light with a 0-0 draw today.
Spurs were unable to break down their hosts in a game of few chances.
They have gone ahead of Arsenal into third place as a result, although England skipper Parker was disappointed they did not secure all three points.
“It was a quite a slow game, we dominated possession in both halves,” he said.
“Sunderland set up to get men behind the ball.
“We were a bit surprised at how they set up. We expected them to come at us a bit more, but we will take a draw and move on.”
