THE omens point to a low-scoring clash when Sunderland host Crystal Palace in tomorrow’s crucial Premier League showdown.

In Palace’s 21 previous visits to Wearside, the Eagles have scored more than one goal just once, and Sunderland have only netted twice six times – and have never managed three or more goals.

Palace have managed just 11 goals, averaging just more than half a goal per visit – with three goals netted in their six trips to the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland, meanwhile, have struck 21 times, a goal a game record going back to the south Londoners’ first visit on FA Cup duty in 1912.
