EVERTON defender Tony Hibbert admits Sunderland really have their tails up thanks to new boss Martin O’Neill.
The Merseysiders claimed a Boxing Day draw at the Stadium of Light as Leighton Baines’ disputed penalty pegged up Jack Colback’s first-half opener.
Hibbert said: “It’s a good point for us.
“They are on the up now with a new manager and everyone is fresh and looking to please.”
In a game affected by the strong wind, Hibbert was happy to salvage a point from an even contest.
He told the club’s website: “The conditions out there were bad with the wind and the pitch cutting up badly.
“It was one of those games when a point was definitely a good result for us.
“It was hard to tell where the wind was coming from at times. It picked up in the second half, and made conditions really difficult. We are just happy we got a point from the game in the end.”
